Things I'm Looking Forward To

So I'll be in Oahu for seven weeks while a summer associate at Starn. I'm looking forward to working at this small law firm where people seem very easygoing and nice. Local style, hopefully. But Oahu, admittedly, is not my favorite island. The crazy number of hotels and tourists and commercialism and selling of Hawaiian culture, etc. etc. lead me to be a bit skeptical about staying so long on this island. When I think of Hawaii, I think of Hana and my family and Maui, so thinking of Waikiki and work will be different.

All that being said, I've been doing some research and am looking forward to trying out a lot of eats by my studio and activities in the area.

Here's my starter list...

Food:

Iyasume Musubi (This place has all different kinds of musubi, including, yes, SPAM!)

Gyoza No Ohsho (Gyoza here is supposed to be great, ramen gets more mixed reviews)

Morio's Sushi (Supposed to be great sushi and the pictures of the tempura shrimp rolls look wonderful)

Hana no Sato/Bento Box (bento! bento! and $4 Japanese breakfasts)

Kiwami Ramen

Menchanko-Tei (more ramen)

Ramen Nakamura (yes, more ramen)

Me's BBQ (Korean BBQ that's cheap and tasty. And they serve Hawaiian breakfasts)

Yummy Korean Bar-B-Q (korean/hawaiian lunchplates)

Ruffage Natural Foods (This place shares space with Morio's. They have vegan food, but I'm wondering if they will have my staples like soy cheese and ice cream)

These are just the ones near my studio. I'm going to compile a list of places near work soon.

As for activities...

DCX Surf School (Looks awesome!!)
